Upper School: Cultural Exploration
Each year, our Summer Seminar explores the Philadelphia region through a different learning lens. This year, students will engage in on-campus learning AND off-campus excursions through the lens of Urbanization and Sustainability. Through this lens of study, students will have the opportunity to explore topics such as city-planning and architecture, urban art, urban environmentalism with a focus on our own area - Conshohocken and Philadelphia.
During this program, we will complete hands-on projects using the latest VR technology such as designing blueprints and architectural plans, discuss the impacts of gentrification on urban environments and communities, and engage in academic and research writing on the various topics of study. We will take field trips to nearby locations such as the Philadelphia Center for Architecture, and the Mural Art Displays around Philadelphia.
